BB Creams – Blemish Balms are actually
There are 3 shades available in the BB Cream
It is a tinted moisturizer is very light weight after application. It is a water-based cream – which is very much ideal for oily skin and combination skin. The consistency of the lotion is medium – neither runny nor thick. It has got a mild fruity fragrance, which however doesn’t linger for more time.
As soon as I apply it on my face, it tends to form a slight whitish cast and if you just apply (without massaging properly) then it will make your face look like a ghost!!! However, this whitish cast vanishes after few minutes post application and it beautifully adapts to your skin tone. It provides a very light coverage to your skin. It brightens up your face as soon as you apply it and that brightness stays upto 3-4 hours. Girls with pigmented facial skin may not find it useful as it provides a sheer coverage. It has also got SPF 21 PA+++ which makes it much ideal for Indian climate. It doesn’t clog pores as it is water based cream. I felt really happy that my skin literally could breathe through it!
I observed that, when you apply this cream and stay in a/c room, the staying power increases to 1-2 hours more without making your skin greasy. But when you are in a normal environment especially in summer season, it tends to make your skin greasy and dark within 3-4 hours – inspite of applying any mineral foundation over it. The staying power vanishes after 3.5 hours.
In India, we find ladies with a very high range of differing skin tones, and Maybelline Clear Glow BB Cream has got only 3 shades – the shade selection is very limited. Though it imparts a healthy glow to my face, it still didn’t show any slight improvement on my skin’s texture, or skin tone. And it is not very hydrating, dry skin types should use a small drop of moisturizer to it before applying it on their face. However, it is not so reasonably priced as almost all of their claims are not so true and even the quantity we get is very less – it hardly lasted for 22days when I applied it regularly. It also contains parabens. I generally pair this BB cream with my Revlon Colorstay Aqua Minerals Foundation or Chambor Luminous Loose Powder.
You can clearly see that it blended so well with my skin tone!! Plus it gives a soft, dewy look!!
