Today I am going to share wonderful news with you all!! Yesterday on 9^th July, 2013 we had a small meet wherein bloggers, news and media people came for the launch of Neutrogena Rainbath Refreshing Shower and Bath Gel.

 

The event was organized by Actimedia India at Olives Beach Restaurant. It had an awe-inspiring ambience, aptly suitable for theme of Neutrogena Rainbath Refreshing Shower and Bath Gel. When we arrived, it was about 3pm and it was quite sunny and hot outside but we got instantly chilled with a lemonade which was served. As we were waiting anxiously, Mr. Ganesh, General Marketing Manager, Bangalore was giving us a brief note about the product and then the most awaited celebrity arrived – Prachi Desai!! The moment she arrived, her hit song was played in the background. She had a subtle makeup on her, which made her face look dewy fresh, even she had a perfect hairdo – which I adored the most! She wore a white colored sheath dress of knee length, and her beige pumps were as lovely as her dress.

Prachi is so picture perfect, every move she made was perfect. She was questioned by the anchor regarding the product & the brand and she answered all the questions’ answers. She was cheerful and full of life. She said that she has a close connection with Neutrogena, even before becoming the brand ambassador – she had been using the products of Neutrogena for quite a long time. She also gave tips on her monsoon regime.  Quoting on product, she said, “I love the rain! It makes me feel so fresh… And I love the scent of nature that comes with it And now, I can enjoy the same refreshing feeling every day with Neutrogena Rainbath Shower Gel! Today I am going to review Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Cooling Toner.

My Experience :

I had always suffered excessive oil on my t-zone of my face, especially my nose and due to which blackheads use to creep on to my skin which used to make my face, kinda ugly!! And again, I used to scrub and remove those stubborn blackheads off my skin. But when I came across Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Cooling Toner, I thought of giving it a try. I used a lot of toners in the past few months, but this one gave an impressive result. Read on to find out more…

Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Cooling Toner is a toner which comes in a white colored sturdy bottle with a yellow cap to it, which is a flip cap. It is travel friendly and the best part is that, it doesn’t leak. The toner is a clear and watery liquid. The fragrance is amazing, and basically comes on the notes of Witch Hazel. To apply, you either can put few drops on your palm and directly apply it on your face, avoiding your eyes and lip area. A very different thing about this toner is that, as soon as you apply it on your face, you get a cooling sensation which is quite soothing and this happens, everytime you apply it on your face!!

Well, the formula is really strong, it slightly makes you feel tingling when you apply on your face. It works really well on removing blackheads and definitely in reducing the appearance of new ones. I had been observing this effect since two months from now and now to my surprise I rarely find any blackhead on my nose! I am super impressed!!!! This toner is quite refreshing and at the same time, works really well on my skin. It doesn’t make my skin dry.

It is suitable for oily skin and combination skin, as it helps in reducing blackheads, pimples and acne and controls the excessive oil secretion of your skin. I would strongly recommend both oily skinned and combination skinned beauties to buy and use it! And then see it making difference to your skin! However, I would not recommend it to sensitive skin as it kind of stings (as tried on my sister who has got a sensitive skin!)

 

And you get a lot of quantity for the price. This bottles would last for many months!! Tops of all, its non-comedogenic and oil-free which is a treat for all the oily skinned and combination skinned beauties.

5. It has got a very refreshing fragrance.

9. It gives a cooling sensation – which is a cherry on top!

Cons of the Product :

1. It gives a slightly tingling sensation which may sting to the sensitive skin. So is not appropriate for sensitive skin.

Apart from this, I find this an absolutely amazing product!!

Overall Verdict: Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Cooling Toner is a very good toner. It effectively reduces your blackheads and makes your skin super clean. At the same time, the formula doesn’t dry your skin out. It gives a cooling sensation to your face, whenever you apply it. I’d recommend this to all the oily skinned and combination skinned beauties. However, for sensitive skin, it is not a good product as it stings a bit.

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Body Moisturiser

After a looooooooong gap am writing again!!! I missed you all a lot,,,and at the same time was enjoying here in Bangalore a lot!!!!!!! Today I am going to review Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Body Moisturizer for Dry Skin.

My Experience :

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Body Moisturizer comes in a big 250ml bottle which is white in color and only the cap is blue in color. The flip cap is quite sturdy and travel friendly. The packaging is very well done that no product gets leaked out during usage. On opening the flip cap, you are required to squeeze the lotion out of the bottle for application.

The consistency of the lotion is not runny like all other body lotions but somewhere between the consistency of cream & runny lotion. It is white in color. The smell of this lotion is divine!! I really love the mild floral fragrance that it imparts, whenever you apply it on your body. I usually apply body lotions just after bath as it is told that any cream/lotion absorbs very well when you apply it right after your bath/ shower as the pores of your skin gets ready to soak up any cream/lotion instantly. I observed that whenever I apply this body lotion, it absorbs almost instantly, leaving my skin non-greasy to touch. And believe me, you require very less amount of this body moisturizer to apply on your hands, legs and all other parts of your body that you require to moisturize, when compared with all other body lotions that I used earlier.

It really does provide instant hydration to your skin. You’d actually love the way it’d hydrate and moisturize your skin and at the same time won’t make your skin greasy!!

 

The moisture of this lotion lasts for about exactly 9 and half hours on me!! Isn’t it wonderful?? Well, this observation was noted all the time during Summers and even during Monsoons. But during Winter season it may last for a bit lesser time. And this 9 and half hour lasting lotion is like a miracle to me! I need not apply it again and again. Even after applying it, when your skin comes in contact with water, it doesn’t get washed away from your skin which is also a very good quality of this moisturizer. Since you require very less amount of the product on your skin, one bottle will easily last for about 2 months.

I am going GA GA over this body moisturizer! Since it is specially made for dry skin, it suits well for all types of skin as well. It does make your skin supple and smooth as claimed by the company. It’s a must have product for everyone!!

3. It has got a pleasant, mild, floral fragrance which everyone would adore!!
4. It provides instant hydration to your skin!

8. The moisture of this lotion lasts very well upto 9 and 1/2hours.
9. One bottle would easily last upto 2moths even with regular usage.
10. No re-application is required till straight 9 and 1/2 hours.

Cons of the Product :

NONE!!

Final Verdict : Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Body Moisturiser is the best moisturiser that I used so far! The moisture of this lotion lasts upto straight 9 and 1/2 hours. It gets absorbed instantly providing a non-greasy finish to your skin. Your skin becomes supple and smooth to touch. You require very less product to moisturise your skin and this way, one bottle can easily last upto 2 months. Since it is specially made for dry skin – it really does provide immense hydration and moisture to dry skin. It is suitable for all types of skin. I’d recommend this to everyone!!!

Today I am going to review Neutrogena Fine Fairness Lotion SPF 30 PA++

• Helps protect skin from photo damage : UVA/UVB formula with SPF 30 helps to shield the skin from darkening and photo damage.

For your best results, use in conjunction with other Neutrogena Fine Fairness products.

My Experience :

Neutrogena Fine Fairness Lotion SPF 30 PA++ comes along in a white, opaque bottle with a pump dispenser and a cap for it. Pump dispenser is very efficient and lets you have an adequate amount of the lotion with just two pumps to cover your face and neck. Since the body of the bottle is quite opaque –  the amount of the product left cannot be easily seen. However, the packaging is quite sturdy but not so travel friendly as the cap is loose and tends to come off.

The consistency of the lotion is not so runny and not even creamy – it is somewhere in between. And on application it tends to give a whitish cast to your face but it goes off after few seconds of application. This lotion is suitable for all types of skin – dry, combination & oily. However, for oily and combination type I would advise you not to use it during extreme hot weather as it tends to get quite sweaty!! But you can use it anytime after those harsh, extreme hot weather passes away. After applying this, I had observed that it did make my skin luminous and fairer than before. And on regular application, I observed that it did improve my skin tone. The fragrance of this lotion is of mild floral fragrance which is quite refreshing, especially after cleansing and toning my face.

The skin shielding formula of SPF 30 PA++ works excellent on skin! You can apply it on your face and forget everything else. It gets absorbed very quickly and feels non-sticky on the surface of your skin. You can use it along with Neutrogena Fine Fairness Cleanser and Neutrogena Fine Fairness Toner for best results. But even if you apply it alone, it works on your skin well. It does reduce the melanin cells on your face and neck to a good extent.

The SPF 30 PA++ works great on skin as the Indian Climate tends to produce a lot of humidity and exposure to sun’s rays with your naked skin can be quite dangerous to your skin. Not just your face, but you should protect all the parts of skin which gets exposed to the harsh rays of sun. and with Neutrogena Fine Fairness Lotion – you can just apply it liberally to your face and neck and can be assured of the protection fom sun’s rays. From my personal experience I can assure you that it is a great product for those who want a non-sticky, fairness lotion with a sun shield factor of SPF 30 PA++!!

2. The lotion is quite non-sticky.
3. It imparts a luminous glow to your face and this glow stays for a long time!!
4. It does reduce the melanin cells, making you visibly fairer – not instantly but gradually.
5. It has got a sun shield factor of SPF 30 with PA++
6. It is suitable for all types of skin.
7. It makes your skin fairer quicker if you use it in conjunction with other Neutrogena products like Neutrogena Fine Fairness Cleanser and Neutrogena Fine Fairness Toner. And it still does make your skin fairer if you exclude them from your normal CTM routine.

Cons of the Product :

1. It contains parabens.
2. The cap of its pump dispenser is loose and hence, not travel friendly.

Apart from these, i don’t find any con associated with it.

Final Verdict : Neutrogena Fine Fairness Lotion SPF 30 PA++ is a very good lotion which is non-sticky by nature & provides ample hydration to your skin without making your skin greasy. It does make your skin fair and radiant with regular usage. It has also got a sun shield factor of SPF 30 PA++ which protects your skin from the damage of harsh sun’s UVA & UVB rays. I personally feel that it is a must try!! I would recommend this to everyone!!

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sun Block SPF 50+ (PA+++)

Today I am going to review Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sun Block SPF 50+ (PA+++)

Price : 450/- for 88ml

Before we review this product, let me give you a brief difference between a Sunscreen and a Sunblock :

Sunblock

Although some believe that sunblock and sunscreen are both the same, they are not. Although they have similar properties Sunblock is opaque and is stronger than sunscreen since it is able to block majority of the UVA/UVB rays and radiation from the sun, thus not having to be reapplied several times a day. Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide are two of the important ingredients in sunblock.

Sunscreen

Sunscreen is more transparent once applied to the skin and also has the ability to protect against UVA/UVB rays as well. Although the sunscreen’s ingredients  break down at a faster rate once exposed to sunlight, and some of the radiation is able to penetrate to the skin. In order for sunscreen to be more effective you’ll have to consistently reapply and use a higher spf  ( source : Wikipedia )

Company claims :

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock SPF 50+ is a breakthrough in sun protection. Stabilized with Helioplex, it provides superior balanced broad spectrum protection against skin-ageing UVA and burning UVB rays and combines it with Dry Touch technology for an ultra-light, non-shiny finish. This lightweight sunblock has a light fresh scent and is gentle enough for sensitive skin.

• Waterproof, sweatproof, resists rub-off
• Non-comedogenic ( won’t clog pores )
• Oil free and PABA free

My Experience :

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch sun block is the best sunblock that I had seen so far. It comes in a tube package with a sturdy cap. This tube packaging is hygienic and lets you take the appropriate amount according to your skin’s need. The cream is in white consistency and has got light fresh scent.

I apply this on my face and leave it on for 10 minutes without applying anything on it. It is non-comedogenic hence, it doesn’t clog the pores my skin breathes well even after application. If left alone during extreme hot weather it tends to get oily and sometimes I even sweat but there is nothing to worry about as it really resists rub-off i.e. even after you wipe your sweat it still remains comfortably on your skin and provides you protection from harmful UV rays and prevents you from tanning. For the “dry touch” feeling I generally apply it under the fan its because your skin should be totally dry before you apply it to your face, else it tends to cast a whitish cast on your skin, however this shouldn’t bother as it fades away within 1 min.

During Monsoon or Winters I find this quite comfortable on my combination type skin as my skin gets in dry phase and my skin doesn’t get oily even after 2 hours of application.

For testing its sunblock ability I applied Lotus Herbals Safe sun Sunscreen Gel SPF 20(As I bought this earlier) on one side of my face and Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock on the other side of my face. I went to college, travelled along with my friends and then went to a shopping mall but just after 2 n 1/2 hours of application I found that one side of my face was burning when I was out, exposed to the sun i.e. the part where I applied Lotus Sunscreen as I wiped my face when I got sweat as a result the Lotus Sunscreen got wiped away leaving my skin naked under the harsh rays of sun whereas Neutrogena’s Sunblock was still intact in its place providing ample protection to my skin and the part where I applied Neutrogena Sunblock absolutely felt nothing. So, from this I can easily conclude that a sunblock is always better than a sunscreen and Neutrogena’s Sunblock is the perfect sunblock for me.

However, I won’t recommend this to oily skinned beauties as it tends to get oily, post application. Whereas Dry and Combination skinned beauties would adore it!!

I found all its claims true, except for the oil free claim. You can even apply this on Monsoon weather as its waterproof.

Pros Of the Product :

1. Provides high levels of both UVA (PA +++) and UVB protection due to the patented Helioplex technology: The main challenge in providing effective protection from UVA rays is that traditional chemicals used in sunscreens that absorb UVA light degrade quickly and become ineffective.Helioplex combines two existing sunscreens, avobenzone and oxybenzone, which block UVA  and UVB  rays. But the avobenzone is in a more stable form, so it doesn’t lose its effectiveness with exposure to sunlight. Neutrogena developed the Helioplex technology in 2005. Helioplex helps protect skin by chemically absorbing harmful UV photos and converting the UV energy to make Avobenzone photostable. This allows sunscreens with Helioplex to deliver high, broad-spectrum and photostable protection after 5 hours of sun exposure. ( source : google and Neutrogena)
2. It is non-comedogenic and it doesn’t clog pores of your skin.
3. It is sweat proof, waterproof and also resists rub off which means you can apply it and can wipe your face and still find it intact on your face.
4. Its PABA free i.e. Para-aminobenzoic acid free as PABA tends to cause a high number of allergic reactions to it.
5. The packaging is hygienic as it comes in a tube.
6. Small size is enough to cover face and neck.

Cons Of the Product :

1. It tends to get oily, post application.
2. No ingredients list is mentioned.

Apart from these, I don’t find any problem with this wonderful product.

Final Review : Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sun Block SPF 50+ (PA+++) is the best sunlock that I’d seen so far as it is indeed sweatproof, waterproof, and it does resist rub-off. Its non-comedogenic which assures that it won’t clog pores. It is a sunblock which is always better than a sunscreen. An ideal sunblock which you can apply on face and forget bothering about it. I would recommend this to combination and dry skinned beauties, oily skinned beauties should keep this at bay.
